American Airlines: Bargaining Update
Jan 20, 2011 at 10:30am
Dear CAW Local 2002 Members,
After meetings with the Company last week, the Union had reached agreement on many of the non-monetary issues, although there were still a number of key issues outstanding.
The company tabled a monetary proposal this week which the Bargaining Committee reviewed and prepared a response. The company and their lawyer responded to our counter proposal by walking away from the table and suggested that we file for conciliation. These actions do not come as a surprise to your Bargaining Committee.
Now that bargaining talks have broken off, the Union will be moving into the next stage of the collective bargaining process: filing a request to the Minister of Labour to appointment a Federal Conciliator who will be tasked with assisting the two parties to reach an agreement.
We will have more information to share in the next few weeks.
Should you have any questions, please contact any member of your Bargaining Committee.
