Message from the President

Dear members,

It is a pleasure to once again address you as President of CAW’s airline division – Local 2002. With over half of the 25 collective agreements, from the 20 different companies represented by our Local up for renegotiation in 2009, this promises to be a challenging bargaining year. Your support is critical in ensuring our collective success.

We continue to expand and strengthen our union with the addition of two new units; Imperial Parking Canada and SkyService Airlines. As well we have welcomed 750 additional members from the GTAA. We look forward to representing and servicing you all.

Our Local continues to face numerous challenges in the airline and transportation industry. When employees invest their labour and loyalty into a company they deserve more than stress in return. Please take the time to read the Wellness Resource pages at the front of this calendar regarding health and safety, human rights and work speed-up. As a Union, an informed and united workforce is our greatest asset. We are committed to communicating to you openly and without any reservation. If you have suggestions as to how we may improve our service to you, please do not hesitate to contact us. We welcome open dialog and the opportunity to discuss issues freely.

Together, as one voice, we must be proud in our labour and loud in our liberty. Our job security depends on it.

In Solidarity,

Leslie Dias
President, CAW Local 2002
